Jack Anderson
(Ando)

Born: 02 Jun 1987
Hometown: Brisbane

Four most significant cycling achievements?
Oceania ITT Champion 2009, representing Australia at the 2009 World Championships, 2nd in the Australian Open ITT championships 2010, signing with Endura Racing for 2011

Best moment on bike?
As painful as it was, I loved the Tour de Pyrenees in 2010

Person who has had the most influence on your cycling career and why?
My Father because he has never ridden a bicycle in his life but I think he is a pretty smart and switched on guy and always supports me, encourages me and puts things in perspective for me.

Rider you most revere/admire and why?
Lance Armstrong. Because he is Lance!

What was your first ever bike?
I think a pink tricycle that belonged to my older sister, my first road bike was a Repco I bought for $100 from the trading post.

Your most "impressive" injury?
I crashed on a timber bridge and broke my jaw in three places and had to have it screwed and plated back together.

What is your favourite route?
Definately a local ride in Brisbane to MT Tamborine and back - usually about 165km! It's usually hot and dry so it's great.

If you were not a pro-racer what would you be doing right now?
Um, I don't know! I live each day at a time so I couldn't imagine doing anything else right now.

What is your hidden talent?
I was (and I hope I still am) a very talented sailor. In fact I have won an Australian Sailing Championship.

What is your favourite food?
Fish and chips with a milkshake, from my local Fish and chip shop.

Do you have a particular lucky ritual before a race or any other quirks or superstitions?
Yes for sure, I have quite a few. Probably to many to list here!

Whats your aim for this season and beyond?
To grow as a rider is always the aim, to work on my weaknesses. I want to help the team win, and I would love to win one race myself in 2011.

What does being in Endura Racing mean to you?
Being in Endura means a lot. It is my life long dream to race my bike for a living, so the fact that I can do that makes me very happy. I can see myself being very happy at Endura and I looking forward to my future with the team.
