Four most significant cycling achievements?
Scottish MTB champion, Scottish Cyclocross champion, Scottish 20k Scratch champion, represented Scotland in MTB and Road.

Best moment on bike?
The final climb of the Marmotte route up Alp d'huez or the Tour Series.

Person who has had the most influence on your cycling career and why?
I know this sounds sad but it'd have to be Gary Hand! He always has the motivation come rain or shine to get you out on your bike and always has great words of encouragement whether your winning or loosing. He just needs to be on time every once in a while!!

Rider you most revere/admire and why?
Jason MacIntyre, he was awesome on a bike and was getting better and better!

What was your first ever bike?
A Budgie! When I was about 3! First road bike was a Raleigh Banana 23" frame (I was 16 and 5ft 3"), I couldn't even straddle the top tube, I had to run with the bike then jump on!

Your most "impressive" injury?
I was out on the mountain bike with Brendan Milliken and he cut across me going round a corner as there was a car coming. He clipped my front wheel and I started to rub into the kerb. Then the front wheel bit in and sent me over the bars. I landed on my knees and then skidded along the path which was all loose gravel that hadn't been packed down yet. Then I hit the lamppost. I looked down and all the skin had gone from my left knee and the knee cap was hanging out. The first aider was almost

What is your favourite route?
Starting from Falkirk I head out to Camelon then Denny, the road veers off towards Carron Valley and at the junction to Fintry you take a left which takes you over the Crow road (good long 10-15min climb). Once you get to the bottom of the Crow Road you head for Kilsyth and half way through Kilsyth you take a left which goes up over the Tak Ma Doon road (very savage climb, about 12-18mins). At the bottom of the Tak Ma Doon you take a right and head back home. It's about a 2.30 ride, hardly an

If you were not a pro-racer what would you be doing right now?
Well I'm still a full time firefighter so I'd be doing that. I'd be heavier, probably drinking! Or a Darts player, it's indoors and you can bevy while you play!

What is your hidden talent?
Airbrushing and spray painting. I've painted and restored a few cars and done some custom airbrushing on helmets and bikes.

What is your favourite food?
Has to be either curry, pizza or chinese. I like a Chicken Pathia with a garlic nan! Mmm, also Kung Pao Chicken and fried rice!

Do you have a particular lucky ritual before a race or any other quirks or superstitions?
A can of Relentless! I'm no a happy boy if I dont get one before a race!

Whats your aim for 2010 and beyond?
Commonwealth Games selection, Tour Series victory for the team and perform well in the Premier Callender and retain my place in the team.

What does being in Endura Racing mean to you?
It means the door that i've been banging on for 15 years has finally opened. A lot of my racing career was spent on the mountainbike and the opportunities were just never there.I have achieved more in the last couple of years on the road than I ever did on the mountain bike. Riding for Endura has given me the opportunity to prove to myself and others just how good I can be and it also gives me the chance to help others reach their goals. Being part of something new and helping it grow is some
