Decending from the high swiss alps at sun set with Thomas Frischknecht and the rest of the Academy boys.

Person who has had the most influence on your cycling career and why?
My mum (Mags as well known in they cycling scene) has always given me all the support I need to help me progress though my cycling career. When I was younger she was the British Ironman champion. Her determination for success and motivation was a big influence on me.

Rider you most revere/admire and why?
Lance Armstrong, He has always been my favourite rider over the many years I have been watching cycling. His come back performance in this years tour de France, just showed his ability/determination.

What was your first ever bike?
A little kids MTB that a rode on as much as I could, and was the cause of many an injury.

Your most "impressive" injury?
2007 World Championships- Fort William. The crash was at top speed down a loose gravel fire road, where I lost the majority of the skin on my right-hand side. I spent a long time in the first aid tent receiving treatment, before making the after World party in the evening!

What is your favourite route?
So far it’s the Yorkshire roads around Ilkley where the hills and scenery is awesome. Still exploring the new roads in Newcastle but they seem to be brilliant with every terrain possible.

If you were not a pro-racer what would you be doing right now?
I would be at University and spent the summer teaching windsurfing on a tropical island.

What is your hidden talent?
Cooking, I like my nice food, and surprise people with what I can cook up.

What is your favourite food?
A big fat rare fillet steak with rosti potato.

Do you have a particular lucky ritual before a race or any other quirks or superstitions?
No.

Whats your aim for 2010 and beyond?
2010 I want to medal in the National U 23 championships, win a premier calendar and get to ride the Commonwealth Games road race. I want to progress as far as possible and see if I can make it to the pro ranks and ride the Tour De France.

What does being in Endura Racing mean to you?
To ride for Endura mean a lot to me. Its the first year that there has been a top level Scottish based team and I am glad to be part of it.
