Edinburgh Nocturne
Evan Oliphant came home third in after an exciting evening of racing in the 2nd round of the Nocturne series in Edinburgh's Grassmarket.

A steady start soon gave way to attack after attack. Evan's move was the first to stick and he rode out front for much of the race. Kristian House (Rapha-Condor-Sharp) bridged to Evan after chasing alone for a few laps and the pair lead for a short while before being caught by what remained of the pack.
House attacked again just as the bunch made the junction and put the power down to gain a 30 second advantage over Christian Mayer [Garmin-Transitions] in 2nd and with Evan winning the sprint for 3rd. Callum Wilkinson came home in 6th place with Davie Lines in 8th.
Evan spoke to British Cycling's Larry Hickmott afterwards and said:
All my family has come down here for the weekend so I wanted to put on a show. I didn’t want to be out front on my own for that long but then Kristian came up and he was jumping me and that was putting me in the red.
I was really hurting when he came up to me and when they (the chasers) caught us, Kristian went again. I stayed in the group because I thought that Cameron would be strong but he seemed to be suffering. It was the other two that were doing all the driving. Last year I was in there at the end but missed out but I was lucky to make the podium tonight.
