Second season started

This winter was really kind and let me train as I wanted, or almost. I moved to Girona in Spain at the beginning of December and have enjoyed the great roads and nice weather here.

We had our team presentation at the London Bike Show in the middle of January and a good training camp in Mallorca right afterwards. We have many new faces in the team, all nice lads and on paper we look really strong for a Continental team - that was confirmed already as in the first races our jet, Jon Tiernan-Locke, won two stages in Tour Med and continued firing in Haut Var. Very impressive performances and I really enjoyed riding for a guy like him in Tour Med.

From my personal point of view I was going not too bad myself, just missing some extra power, but everything was actually fine because I want to be going strong from the end of March and get the winning legs for the rest of the season from that point on. ;)

I didn't make it to Haut Var, because of flu, which stopped me riding my bike for a week. It was really cold in Tour Med and nothing like the mild and warm weather in Girona . I had to watch Jonny's Haut Var winning finish from the big screen in finishing area. I almost don't know, if it was better to see it live or would it have been better to be participating in the race and help him achieve that victory, but at the point where I saw Jon coming back to the head of the race on the last climb, I felt excited and proud to be a member of Endura Racing.

As I got sick during the week between Med and Haut Var, I couldn't train for five days and I was still suffering from the sickness last weekend in Boucles du Sud Ardeche. Now I feel it gets better and better and I'm waiting already for Vuelta Murcia. I just love racing and I hope I can go hard there again, maybe another win with Jon!? Hopefully we are done with the cold weather and the warmer times will get my legs go faster too. ;)
